What Mezzi Does — and What It Doesn't
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Overview
Mezzi is a read-only wealth platform. It connects to your financial accounts, brings them into one picture, and gives you AI-driven advice on allocation, taxes, risk and returns. It does not execute trades, move money, file or prepare your tax returns, or hold your assets — Mezzi is not a custodian and never has the ability to transfer funds.
📌 What You Need to Know
What Mezzi does
Aggregates your accounts. Brokerage, retirement, cash, crypto, real estate and liabilities, connected through Plaid, Finicity, SnapTrade and Meld — or added manually — so your entire net worth sits in one place.
Analyzes what you hold. Asset allocation, true sector and holding-level exposure through Exposure X-ray, fund fees, income, and daily through historical profit and loss.
Gives advice. Mezzi's AI answers questions about your actual portfolio: tax-saving opportunities, risk and return, retirement planning, and proactive insights when something changes. AI access is limited on the free tier; unlimited AI advice starts at Core.
Shares the picture. You can collaborate with a family member, advisor or CPA on the same view.
What Mezzi does not do
It does not place trades. Mezzi will surface an opportunity — a wash sale risk, a concentrated position, a higher-fee fund with a cheaper equivalent — but you execute at your brokerage. There is no trade button, and no way to authorize Mezzi to trade on your behalf.
It does not move money. Connections are read-only. In Mezzi's own words: "We do not have the ability to trade or transfer funds from your accounts." No transfers, no bill pay, no rebalancing.
It does not file your taxes. Mezzi gives tax-savings advice — harvesting candidates, holding-period awareness, withdrawal and donation sequencing — and it can help you understand the consequences of a move. It does not prepare returns, generate tax forms, or file anything. Your brokerage still issues your 1099s.
It is not a custodian. Your assets stay at your existing institutions. Mezzi holds no accounts and never takes possession of your money or securities.
It does not hold your login credentials. Authentication happens inside the provider's flow. Your credentials are never shared with Mezzi.
Why the read-only boundary matters
The narrow scope is the security model, not a missing feature. Because Mezzi only ever reads, a compromise of your Mezzi account cannot result in money leaving your brokerage. That's also why you'll never be asked for wiring details or asked to grant trading authority.
Important Notes
Mezzi's advice is only as complete as what it can see. The footer disclosure says it plainly: to the extent information isn't provided to Mezzi, it won't capture the changes or opportunities in it. If an account is missing, add it — manually if the institution isn't supported.
Mezzi also depends on third-party data providers, so figures can lag or arrive imperfect. If a number looks wrong, it usually is a sync or data issue rather than an error in your brokerage.

Common Questions
Can Mezzi buy or sell securities for me? No. Mezzi is read-only and cannot place trades. It can tell you what it would consider and why; the order goes through your brokerage.
Does Mezzi do my taxes? No. Mezzi gives tax-savings advice on your actual holdings but does not prepare, generate or file tax returns. Your institutions still issue your tax documents.
Does Mezzi hold my money? No. Mezzi is not a custodian or a broker. Your assets remain at the institutions where they already are.
Can Mezzi see my passwords? No. Account authentication is handled inside the connection provider's flow, and your credentials are never shared with Mezzi.
