Trusted Devices and Automatic Sign-Out

Overview

Mezzi signs you out automatically on devices you haven't marked as trusted. When you're prompted to Trust this device, choosing it tells Mezzi this is a device you control, and you stay signed in between sessions instead of signing in each time. The prompt says it plainly: "Trust this device to avoid automatic logoff." Trust your own phone; don't trust a borrowed or shared one.

📌 What You Need to Know

Automatic sign-out is the default, and it's deliberate. Mezzi holds a complete picture of your finances. On a device that hasn't been trusted, an unattended session ending on its own is the right outcome.

Trusting a device is a choice you make per device. Marking your phone as a Trusted device applies to that device only. Signing in on a laptop, a tablet or a second phone prompts you again there.

Trusting a device doesn't lower any other protection. Your accounts remain read-only, your connections are unchanged, and Mezzi still never holds your institution credentials — see Is My Data Secure?. A trusted device changes how often you re-authenticate, nothing else.

Signing in is Apple or Google SSO. There's no Mezzi password, so signing back in after an automatic sign-out is a tap, not a typed credential. Important Notes

If Mezzi keeps signing you out on a device you use every day, the likely reason is that the device was never trusted — watch for the Trust this device prompt at sign-in and take it. If you're trusting the device and still being signed out repeatedly, that's worth reporting.

Don't trust a shared device. On a family computer, a work laptop or anything you don't solely control, decline the prompt and let the automatic sign-out do its job. If you've already trusted a device you no longer want trusted, email us.

Common Questions

• How long do I stay signed in on a device I haven't trusted? We haven't published a specific interval, and it's better to check than to rely on a number here. What's reliable: an untrusted device signs you out on its own, and a trusted one doesn't.

• Can I see or remove my trusted devices? There's no self-serve list of trusted devices today. If you want a device untrusted — a phone you've sold, for example — email help@mezzi.com.

• Does signing out disconnect my accounts? No. Signing out only ends the session. Your connections, holdings and history are unaffected.

• Should I trust a work laptop? No. Trust devices only you control. On anything shared, let Mezzi sign you out automatically.
