How to Add a Loan (and Its APR) in Mezzi
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Overview
You can add a mortgage, home equity loan, auto loan, student loan or other loan to Mezzi manually, including its APR (interest rate). Its balance then counts against your net worth, and Mezzi AI can take the loan into account. Only the name and current balance are required. Add the APR, monthly payment and term too if you have them, so Mezzi AI gets the full picture. If you've already connected the lender, don't add the loan again, because it would be counted twice.
🧠How to Add a Loan
Go to Financial Profile → Accounts and tap Connect new account. On web, you can also click the + next to Net Worth in the left menu.
Choose Loans.
On Add liability, choose Add manually. (To connect the lender instead, choose Link accounts.)
Fill in the loan details:
Name (required), for example "Car loan"
Loan type: Mortgage, Home Equity Loan, Auto Loan, Student Loan or Other
Current balance (required)
Principal (original balance)
Term (in years), from 1 to 50
Start date
Monthly payment
APR, entered as a percentage, for example 6.5
Notes
Tap Add loan. The loan appears with your liabilities, and its balance counts against your net worth.

💡 Why This Matters
Leaving a loan out overstates your net worth, and Mezzi AI can't weigh paying down debt against investing if it doesn't know what the debt costs.
Add the APR
The APR is what lets Mezzi AI compare your loan's interest cost with what your money could earn elsewhere, for example when you ask whether to pay off a loan early. The monthly payment and term help it estimate how long the loan has left.
Mortgages on a property you added
If you're adding a home, you can add its mortgage during that flow instead. See how to add a home or rental property.
Important Notes
Manually added loans don't update on their own. Update the current balance from time to time so your net worth stays accurate.
If the lender is already connected, the loan is already counted. Adding it manually as well would count it twice.
