Chase Account Not Updating, or Repair Keeps Failing

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Overview

Some Chase connections stopped receiving new data in late September 2026, and repairing them often fails. Mezzi still shows your last balances and holdings, but they may be out of date. The fix that works today is to remove the Chase institution in Mezzi and add Chase again as a new connection.

Status: Known issue, fix in testing (last updated Oct 8, 2026).

⚠ What You May See

  • A notice on your Chase accounts that the data is stale, with a date in late September

  • Chase balances or transactions that haven't changed in days

  • A repair attempt that ends in a failed connection, every time you try

⚙ How to Fix It

  1. Remove the Chase institution in Mezzi. See removing an institution vs. a single account for the steps.

  2. Go to Profile → Accounts, tap Connect a new account, choose Brokerage or bank and search for Chase.

  3. Tap the Chase result and complete the full Chase sign-in, including any verification code Chase sends you.

  4. Select all the Chase accounts you want in Mezzi, including checking, credit cards and any J.P. Morgan investment accounts.

  5. Allow up to 24 hours for holdings and transaction history to fill in.

💡 Why This Happens

For a group of Chase connections, the data provider stopped collecting new data from Chase while still reporting the connection as active. Mezzi kept showing the last data it received, and repairing the old connection doesn't restart collection. New Chase connections use a different route that isn't affected, which is why adding Chase again works. A fix for affected connections is in testing.

Important Notes

  • Removing Chase clears the history Mezzi recorded for those accounts. Your current balances and holdings return once you reconnect. Your Chase accounts themselves aren't affected.

  • Don't add Chase a second time without removing the old connection first, or your Chase accounts will be counted twice. If that happens, see how to remove duplicate accounts.

  • Custom names you gave your Chase accounts reset when you reconnect. You can rename them afterwards.
