Why Is My CIT Bank Balance Not Updating in Mezzi?

Last updated: October 24, 2026

If your CIT Bank balance in Mezzi looks out of date, refresh the connection manually. Automatic background updates between our data provider, Plaid, and CIT Bank are not completing right now, so the balance only changes when you refresh it or reconnect.

Status: Known issue, affecting CIT Bank connections (last updated Oct 23, 2026). We will update this article when automatic updates are working again.

How to refresh your CIT Bank balance

  1. Go to Financial Profile → Accounts.

  2. Click Manage next to CIT Bank.

  3. Select Refresh connection.

Refreshing asks CIT Bank for your live balance. You can refresh once an hour. See Why can't I refresh my account more than once an hour?

Why this happens

Mezzi shows the balance Plaid last received from CIT Bank. Normally Plaid updates it in the background. For CIT Bank connections, those background updates are not completing, so the balance Mezzi holds stays at the last successful pull until you refresh.

A second CIT account that shows an old balance

If you see two accounts with similar names and one has an old balance, Plaid has likely stopped sending that account. Mezzi keeps the last balance it received. If the account is closed, you can hide it so it does not count toward your net worth.
