HSA Investments Missing or Not Updating in Mezzi
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Overview
If your HSA shows only cash, is missing its investments, or stopped updating, the HSA provider usually isn't sharing investment data through the connection Mezzi used. Try connecting the HSA through the other aggregator first. If that doesn't bring in the holdings, add the HSA manually so Mezzi still counts it.
⚠️ What You May See
Your HSA shows a cash balance only, even though it's invested.
Investments are missing from the HSA.
The HSA stopped updating, and repairing or reconnecting it didn't help.
⚙️ How to Fix It
Try the other aggregator. Keep your current connection, then go to Financial Profile → Accounts → Connect new account → Brokerage or bank → Link accounts, search for your HSA provider, and choose the provider after Or connect via (for example, Finicity if you used Plaid). See how to choose a connection option.
If the new connection shows your investments, delete the old one. See how to remove duplicate accounts.
If it still shows only cash or won't update, add the HSA manually or upload a statement. See how to manually add an account. You can hide the connected version so it isn't counted twice.
💡 Why This Happens
Many HSAs are run by a benefits administrator, with the investments held somewhere else. Some administrators only share the cash balance with data aggregators, or stop sending updates. Known cases right now:
Bank of America HSA: investments don't come through. Add it manually.
WEX Benefits HSA: the connection can stop updating after you reconnect. Plaid is aware and hasn't given a timeline, so add it manually if it stays stuck.
Important Notes
Manually added accounts still count in your net worth and in Advisor's analysis.
Holdings you enter with a ticker keep updating with market prices; share counts don't, so update them after contributions.
